ABOUT ME

My love of writing started when I was young. I was always writing short stories as a child and whiled away the summers reading one book after another. It wasn't until college, however, that I began to really explore my skills as a reader and writer. I obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's degree in English at Florida Gulf Coast University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While I worked towards my degree, I was also a Teaching Assistant and a Writing Consultant at the university's Writing Center -- an experience that exposed me to many different types and styles of writing and helped mold me into the efficient editor I am today.

After graduation, I cultivated my writing and editing skills further while working with the Florida Department of Transportation, where I became a skilled press release and report writer, and an entertainment company in Orlando. For the latter, I was a Website Content Writer and wrote anywhere from five to eight articles of roughly 500 words each every day.  It was challenging work, but it gave me a keen eye for editing and a knack for generating interesting and professional content quickly.

Though Florida has always been home in my heart, I lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for two years, which found me returning to academia as an instructor of Composition at the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College. However, when I heard my beloved alma mater, Florida Gulf Coast University, was hiring, I had to apply. I've been a full-time faculty member there ever since, and I'm loving it.

When I'm not sharing my passion for the written word with Composition, English Literature, or Professional Writing students, I spend my spare time working on freelance projects with various clients, old and new, professionals and academics. Being entrusted with their work is an honor and a pleasure, and I hope you'll be among them in choosing me to help you perfect your words.
